Types of Polygon Name

Polygon is a two dimensional shapes. It has minimum three sides. It sides are straight and connected to each other. The regular polygons have equal sides and equal angles.

Types of polygons name:
There are two types of polygons. There names are,
1.      Convex polygons:
If the all interior angles of polygons are less than 1800 then it is called as convex polygon.
2.      Concave polygons:
If one or more interior angles of polygons are greater than 1800 then it is called as concave polygon.

Types of polygons name– Formula:

some basic polygons names:
 Triangle - three-sided polygon.
 Quadrilateral - four-sided polygon.
 Pentagon - five-sided polygon.
 Hexagon - six-sided polygon.
 septagon -seven-sided polygon.
 Octagon - eight-sided polygon.
 Nonagon - nine-sided polygon.
 Decagon - ten-sided polygon
Square:
square
Area of square (A) =a2 square units
             Perimeter of the square (P) = 4 x a units
Triangle:
Equilateral triangle
Area of equilateral triangle (A) =a2 x `sqrt (3)/4 ` square units
                                                a – side length
Perimeter of equilateral triangle (P) = a + a + a units
                                                                   = 3 a
                                    a – side length
Hexagon:
hexagon
Formula to find area of hexagon:
                                    Area (A) = t2 2.6 square units
                                                t = side length

Types of polygons name– Example problems:

1. Find the area of the square, whose side length is 38 cm.
Solution:
Given:
            Side (a) =38 cm
Area of square = a2 square units
                                              = 38 x 38
Area of square = 1444 cm
            Perimeter of square (p) = 4 a units
                                                        = 4 x 38
            Perimeter of square (p) = 152

2.  Find the area and perimeter of triangle whose side 20 cm.
Solution:
Side of triangle, a = 20 cm
                        Area of the triangle (A) = a2 x `sqrt (3)/4`
                                                                 = 202 x `(1.732/4)`
                                                                 = 400 x 0.433
                                                                 = 173.2 cm2
Perimeter of equilateral triangle (P) = 3a units
                                                                        = 3 x 20
                                                                        = 60 cm

My forthcoming post is on Solve Quadratic Equations Calculator, and samacheer kalvi 10th maths book will give you more understanding about Algebra

3. The side length of hexagon is 28 cm. find the area of the hexagon.
Solution:
Given:
Side length (t) = 28 cm
Formula:
Area of the hexagon (A) = t2 2.6
                                                = 282 x 2.6
                                                = 784 x 2.6
                                                = 2038.4
              Area of the hexagon = 2038.4 cm2
            Perimeter of the hexagon (p) = 6 t units
                                                              = 6 x 28
                                                              = 168

Perimeter of the hexagon (p) = 168 cm
