Measure Area of Triangle

A triangle is one of the basic shapes of geometry: a polygon with three corners or vertices and three sides or edges which are line segments. Calculating the area of a triangle is an elementary problem encountered often in many different situations.
\mathrm{Area}=\frac{1}{2}bh
where b is the length of the base of the triangle, and h is the height or altitude of the triangle. The term 'base' denotes any side, and 'height' denotes the length of a perpendicular from the point opposite the side onto the side itself. (Source : Wikipedia)

Example problems for measure area of triangle

Example 1:
Measure the area of the given triangle.

Solution:
Given, base length of the triangle is 12 cm and height is 10 cm
Formula:
 Area of triangle = (1 / 2) * b * h
Substitute the given values in the above values, we get
                            = (1 / 2) * 12 * 10 cm2
                            = 60 cm2
Answer:
The area of the triangle is 60 cm2
Example 2:
Measure the area of the given triangle.

Solution:
Given, base length of the triangle is 22 cm and height is 15 cm
Formula:
 Area of triangle = (1 / 2) * b * h
Substitute the given values in the above values, we get
                            = (1 / 2) * 22 * 15 cm2
                            = 165 cm2
Answer:
The area of the triangle is 165 cm2

Example 3:
Measure the area of the given triangle.

Solution:
Given, base length of the triangle is 21 cm and height is 8 cm
Formula:
 Area of triangle = (1 / 2) * b * h
Substitute the given values in the above values, we get
                            = (1 / 2) * 21 * 8 cm2
                            = 84 cm2
Answer:
The area of the triangle is 84 cm2

Example 4:
Measure the area of the given triangle.

Solution:
Given, base length of the triangle is 34 cm and height is 7 cm
Formula:
 Area of triangle = (1 / 2) * b * h
Substitute the given values in the above values, we get
                            = (1 / 2) * 34 * 7 cm2
                            = 119 cm2
Answer:
The area of the triangle is 119 cm2
