Direct Proportion Tutor


Tutor teaches about the direct proportion for the students. In mathematics, direct proportion is one of the most important topics. Direct proportion is in the form of ratio. Also direct proportion is in the form of fraction format. Direct proportion is always equals to the constant value. Example: If the A factor changes means then the B factor also change. There are number of online problems is given for the direct proportion. In this article we are going to solve the direct proportion.

Direct proportion is always in the form of,

x/y  = z

where,

x and y is known as the values.
z value is used for defining the constant function.


Example problems to direct proportion tutor

Example 1: Solve: If 20 liters can travel 120 kilometers, then find how long it will take for 30 liters.

Tutor Solution:

Step 1: Given:

20 liters = 120 kilometers

30 liters = ? kilometers

Step 2: Assume:

Unknown = a

Step 2: To find:

20/30  = 120/a

Step 3: Solve:

20 xx  a  = 120 xx 30

20a = 3600

a = 3600/20

= 180

Tutor Result: 20 liters = 180 rupees.

Example 2: Solve: If 30 liters can travel 150 kilometers, then find how long it will take for 50 liters.

Tutor Solution:

Step 1: Given:

30 liters = 150 kilometers

50 liters = ? kilometers

Step 2: Assume:

Unknown = a

Step 2: To find:

30/50  = 150/a

Step 3: Solve:

30 xx  a  = 150 xx 50

30a = 7500

a = 7500/30

= 250

Tutor Result: 50 liters = 250 rupees.
